Unfortunately, I no longer know the man's name, as the notebook it was written in was stolen from my bag a few years ago. I recall that we sat together with his family watching the dancing. He wanted to swap his Dzi stone (a traditional Tibetan bead normally worn in a necklace) with the one I was wearing. Even though I declined the offer (I could never part with mine), he allowed me to take his picture, proudly wearing his very cool hat.
